Dons midfielder Jonny Hayes is struggling to be fit for Sunday’s Scottish Cup match against Partick Thistle.
The Irishman, who last week signed a contract extension to keep him at Pittodrie until 2016, was unable to train yesterday because of a hamstring injury.
However, Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes does not expect Hayes to spend a lengthy period on the sidelines should he miss Sunday’s match in Glasgow.
He said: “Jonny is a doubt for the game but we don’t think the injury is anything too significant.
“He may miss out for a couple of days because of it. We will give him every chance for Sunday as he is keen to be fit and available. He was the only player who didn’t train, so we will see how he is later in the week.”
The Dons will welcome back Barry Robson, who missed Saturday’s 3-1 defeat by Celtic because of suspension.
Midfielder Chris Clark is expected to continue his comeback from a knee injury by featuring in today’s under-20 match against Dundee United at Balmoor.
