A driver who died in a single vehicle crash on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides has been named as a local man.
Harry Thomson, 72, of Back was behind the wheel of a blue-coloured Vauxhall Agila which left the A857 road by Laxdale Primary school near Stornoway around 1.50pm on Saturday.
The car was being driven in the direction of Stornoway.
Mr Thomson, the sole male occupant of the vehicle, was conveyed by ambulance to Western Isles Hospital at Stornoway, where he was pronounced dead.
Specialist officers from the road policing unit in Dingwall travelled to Lewis to carry out enquiries.
