Is the stress from the week beginning to pile up? Well, it’s almost the weekend and this video of a pendulum wave contraption will send your brain straight to relaxation mode.
The 16 balls which hang from a wooden frame first move in a wave-like motion, before breaking off to creative mesmerising patterns and twinkly noises.
Maria Ikenberry, who uploaded the video to YouTube on 7 September, explained: “The length of time it takes a ball to swing back and forth one time to return to its starting position is dependent on the length of the pendulum, not the mass of the ball.
“The lengths of the pendula in this demonstration are all different and were calculated so that in about 2:40, the balls all return to the same position at the same time.”
The footage was filmed on private land in North Carolina in the US and has received over 265,000 views.
