Pranksters from both sides of the border have staged a mock passport control near Jedburgh.
The ‘Scottish Border Agency’ passport control centre was set up at the Carter Bar this morning.
Alan Smith, a piper from Hawick, was the first man to pass the checkpoint.
Questions remain over whether there would be a need for a border control of any sort.

Yes campaigners point out that there are no border controls between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, with the Common Travel Area making for unhindered passage.
But No campaigners have highlighted doubts over an independent Scotland’s EU status and the need for border controls as part of the Schengen Agreement.
Event organiser Jon Parker Lee said: “We’re not making a point for either side. We’ve staged this together as a group of Scots and English. We’re simply united in having a laugh.
“Come what may, we all love a wind-up, and maybe this will give everyone a laugh and a break from the ever-increasing heat of the debate.”
