A Shetland youth arrested after an alleged firearms incident on the island appeared in court yesterday.
Sixteen-year-old Samuel Arthur Septimus Barlow, faced two charges of theft, three charges of assault, one of abusive and threatening behaviour and one of malicious damage when he made a private appearance at Lerwick Sheriff Court.
Barlow made no plea and was committed for further examination.
He was arrested after a major police alert on the islands which led to a team of firearms officers being flown by RAF Lossiemouth helicopter from the mainland.
It is understood an air rifle was recovered by police.
Barlow is expected to appear in court again next week.
