Players will be wary of the bunkers but the water should not really come into play on this hole. The green has a number of ridges but Ryder Cup stars will be hopeful of picking up crucial birdies here as they near the end of their round.
Hole facts
Name: Lochan Loup
Distance: 518 yards
Par: Five
Top tip:Â The second shot should be short of the loch and in a central position, leaving a short, middle-iron third shot.
Andrew Jowett, Head Professional at Gleneagles Resort, says
Ideal drive is over the central fairway bunker with a little draw. Like the 9th hole, it can be fun to watch the big hitters reach this par 5 in two. Putting from anywhere on the back half of the green is quick.
