While Europeans refer to the last Ryder Cup finale as the Miracle at Medinah, the Americans talk of the Meltdown at Medinah – and they see this as their chance for redemption.
Golfing legend Tom Watson has pulled together a talented squad, and although the Europeans have been named as tournament favourites, the Americans will be desperate to reclaim the historic title.
The team may be missing Tiger Woods but it does contain a number of players with impressive Ryder Cup records – particularly Watson’s wildcard selections, Keegan Bradley, Hunter Mahan and Webb Simpson who have all collected important Ryder Cup points in previous campaigns.
