There will be two days of traffic disruption on the A9 Inverness to Perth road during £40,000 of resurfacing work.
The contract, which starts on Monday, is on a section of southbound dual carriageway at Findhorn Bridge south of Inverness.
The upgrading by BEAR Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland, will provide a smoother surface.
Work will be carried out between 7am and 7pm on Monday and Tuesday only.
Temporary traffic lights will be in use, with a convoy system to guide traffic along at 10mph.
The A9 north will not be affected.
Eddie Ross of BEAR Scotland said: “These works follow an investigation to help improve road safety on this section of the A9. Once completed, the improvements will lead to a much improved road surface and will help improve the safety of the travelling public.
“Whilst the works are unlikely to cause any significant delays, we encourage road users to plan their journeys in advance whenever possible.”
