A section of an industrial base in Lerwick has been cordoned off after a fire earlier this morning.
Police have said that Greenhead Base in the town’s port will be cordoned off for most of the afternoon in order for gas cylinders caught in the fire to be cooled down.
Three fire appliances were sent to the incident at the industrial unit just before 11am, and the blaze was brought under control soon after.
However, acetylene and oxygen cylinders caught in the fire will take several hours to cool down and the area has been evacuated as a precaution.
A spokeswoman for the police said that nobody had been injured in the incident.
