IMES, a leading marine and subsea company, has been formally recognised for the high level of its crane and lifting independent inspection services.
The company, which has its headquarters in Aberdeen, has received accreditation to ISO 17020:2012 as a Type C body from UKAS (the United Kingdom Accreditation Service), which relates to inspection bodies.
IMES is one of the first in its sector to receive the 2012 standard accreditation. The company provides load life cycle management solutions to the oil & gas, defence and industrial markets.
Following rigorous assessment of company principles, practices and procedures, IMES has completed the transition to the new industry standard which enhances the company’s credibility to inspect and report on clients’ equipment. IMES previously held accreditation to ISO 17020:1998.
Jason Smith, chief operating officer at IMES, said: “This transition to the new industry standard is a further endorsement of the high quality of our company’s processes and procedures, particularly our crane and lifting services.
“This honour speaks volumes of the knowledge and expertise of our team. We are extremely proud of the breadth of accreditation and certifications held by IMES which continues to present new opportunities for business growth.”
