The age-old assumption that men prefer cars to women has been proven, well kind of anyway.
Volvo launched a survey recently to coincide with the launch of the its new Concept Coupe.
What they found was that men feel more emotional when looking at a beautiful car design than they do when looking at beautiful women.
And after speaking to Graham George, I think he might fall into that category as well.
“I would sell my wife first before I sold my car,” the 60-year-old joked.
While he might have been joking when it came to his wife, he is deadly serious about keeping his car, a 1984 Porsche 911 Targa.
It has been his dream car for more than 30 years and he was only able to afford it six years ago.
He said: “I worked offshore for 34 years, packed it in about six years ago and bought the Porsche.
“Many years ago in the early 70s there was a guy called Ronnie Watt who did Shotokan karate and I used to train with him. He had a black Porsche and from then on, it was my dream car and I always said that if I had enough money I would buy one.
“And then the time came and I had the money and I bought this one.”
Graham, who lives in Bridge of Dee, had been looking for ages before he came across the right model, but he admits that he should have “done his homework” before buying it.
“I probably should have bought a more expensive one because a cheaper one obviously needs a lot of work and I didn’t know what to do when things went wrong with it,” he said.
Over the past three years the car has undergone a major transformation, thanks to the help of a local garage and his son, Kevin.
The work took three years, ensuring the car looks exactly as it did in the 1980s. Graham even went as far as to include the original radio cassette and storage rack, removing a modern CD player.
“I just think it makes it better,” he said.
“And when older people look at it, they can say ‘Oh I remember when I had one of them or I can remember when they were like that’.”
So what makes this Porsche Graham’s dream car then?
“I don’t know, it was just my car,” he said.
“I liked the style and the whale fin in the back, that’s probably my favourite.
“I’ve never had one before. I’ve had quite a few cars, got a nice X5 now but this has always been the one I wanted.
“It’s not for sale, if someone came and offered me £30,000 for it, I wouldn’t sell it.”
The car is only used in the summer, and only on dry days Graham explained, which must make driving it all the more special.
He said: “It’s a great thing to drive. I only go out on sunny days. I like to limit my miles.”
Last year he took the car to a rally in Fochabers but has decided to attend more this year.
“I was told that it’s a bonnie car and you never know what it could fetch,” he added.
It would definitely stand out in the streets of the Granite City.
It even managed to attract attention when our Press and Journal photographer was taking photos for this feature.
Graham said: “When I took it outside and the photographs were being taken, two of my neighbours came out.
“I just love the car overall. I look at other Porsches and so do my boys, and they say it’s the whale fin at the back, that’s the best bit.
“You need to try one to know how good they are.”
