The three car collision took place shortly before 11.55am near Finstown and two people were taken to Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall by road ambulance. Fire crews from Kirkwall had to use cutting gear to free one person from their vehicle. Firefighters have now left the scene. An ambulance spokeswoman said: “We have taken two casualties in to Balfour Hospital but there is no information on injuries at this stage.” The road remains closed between the Harray Road end and Baikies and local diversions are in place.
