Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes wants a repeat of the first half of the season as he reflects on a job well done but only half-completed at Pittodrie.
There is much to be happy about for the Dons and their manager. They are third in the Scottish Premiership after 17 games, in a League Cup semi-final and still in the Scottish Cup.
McInnes is delighted with the consistency of performance coming from his men as they head towards the halfway mark on Sunday and believes 2014 can be a year to remember if his side continues to produce good form beyond Christmas.
He said: “We would like more of the same. If we can mirror the points we have taken so far we will do all right this season and we have two big cup games to look forward to in February.
“I was confident we could improve on our league position but we’ve still got to prove that.
“At least we are in the mix. We are on the shoulders in there and I’d rather be in there competing than not, that’s for sure.
“We’ll just keep trying to do what we are doing.
“The players help bring a winning mentality.
“They have shown aggression and competitiveness each Saturday coupled with ability, confidence and belief.”
