Caley Thistle goalkeeper Dean Brill believes the Highland club should go after second place in the Scottish Premiership after gaining another point on the road at Partick Thistle.
The 28-year-old was in fantastic form to deny Christie Elliott and Ross Forbes with great saves in the second half at Firhill as the Caley Jags drew 0-0 in Glasgow.
Inverness moved up to third place in the table after Dundee United and Aberdeen both lost and Brill has targeted being the best of the rest behind Celtic this term.
The former Luton Town player said: “It was a bit of a scrappy game, Partick moved the ball about quite well and we didn’t really get our game going, but it is another clean sheet and a good point away from home.
“We have got to be happy with that. Maybe we were expected to win, but this is a tough league. Their supporters were great and this is a really good place to play.
“After losing four against Aberdeen last week, the clean sheet was important. Motherwell have moved into second after going unnoticed for a bit but why not target second place?
“It’s nice to be up there and we will be in and around it.”
Brill added: “We have Celtic up next but when we played them down there I did not have too much to do, they are a good side but it’s just another game for us.”
Billy McKay is a wanted man with several English clubs after him in January but Brill hopes he will remain with the Caley Jags.
He said: “Of course, Billy is an important player for us and we don’t want to lose him but the speculation won’t affect him – he will just keep his head down.”
