Peterhead opened up a five-point lead at the top of League 2 thanks to a dramatic late derby victory against Elgin City at Balmoor yesterday.
Elgin captain David Niven gave Ross Jack’s Black and Whites the lead before the interval but Graeme Sharp’s deflected effort levelled the scores and Jamie Redman netted the winner in the final minute of the match as the Blue Toon extended their unbeaten run to nine matches.
It was a third defeat in a row for Elgin City but there were plenty of positives for the visitors to take from an entertaining tussle against the league leaders.
