Stephen Gauld is in line to face unbeaten Highland League leaders Brora Rangers today after joining Buckie Thistle from Turriff United last night.
The winger signed a two-and-a-half-year contract after joining for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old former Deveronvale and Huntly player, who comes from Gardenstown, is delighted to have the chance to resurrect his career.
He said: “I’ve only started one game for Turriff this season.
“But, hopefully, I will get my chance to show what I can do for Buckie Thistle against Brora Rangers.
“Buckie have a great support and I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.
“I would love to become a regular in the Jags starting line-up.
“The more games I play the more confident I become.
“I prefer playing on the left but I don’t mind playing up front, either. I’ll play anywhere the manager wants me to as long as I get a game.”
Jags manager Gary Hake knows all about Gauld’s abilities. He said: “I worked with Stephen when he was a youngster at Deveronvale. He brings us a lot of pace, he is very direct and he’s the type of player we haven’t had at the club since Zander Sutherland left us to join Brora Rangers.”
