Peterhead manager Jim McInally could find out today if his appeal against a four-match touchline ban has been successful after a two-hour hearing at Hampden yesterday.
McInally was punished after a canteen argument with referee John McKendrick. The former Scotland international was suspended last month after McKendrick reported him for asking the whistler and his assistants to move from a canteen at Peterhead’s Balmoor ground after a game with East Stirlingshire on November 16.
The Blue Toon manager was concerned, as his side had lost a late goal in its 1-1 draw with the Shire, his players could have made comments which would have been heard and reported by McKendrick as the officials were sitting close by. McInally asked them to move but McKendrick believed the manager had been joking when he made the initial request – leading to the fall-out.
The Balmoor manager said: “I was not at the initial hearing when the ban was imposed but I am glad I attended the appeal.”
