Highland League club Huntly last night sacked manager Dave McGinlay and his assistant Jim Cheyne.
The pair were in their second spell with the Strathbogie club, having first taken charge from December 2007 until March 2010, returning in March 2011.
McGinlay was unavailable for comment last night, but long-serving defender, Mark Gray, will take charge of the squad for Saturday’s home game against Deveronvale.
There will be no shortage of candidates for the Christie Park job. Former Deveronvale manager Scott Anderson, whose father Billy led Huntly to the title in 2005, could well be interested, while the man who won four Highland League titles in a decade, two with Vale and Buckie Thistle, Gregg Carrol, is equally keen to get back into the game. Former Huntly managers John Gardiner and Dave Cormie could also be contenders.
