Aberdeen-based energy service company Centrifuges Un-Limited yesterday announced plans to expand into the Middle East.
The firm – which specialises in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of equipment such as water separators and mud coolers – will open an office in Dubai later this year to boost business in the region.
Following an upturn in business in the area, the firm has hired Aberdeen-born Gordon Bisset as regional sales manager.
“The creation of our Dubai office is a key part of our overall strategy for growth because it will open up sales channels in new and different regions,” said managing director Jim Shiach.
Centrifuges also announced a 56% increase in turnover to £5million for the year ending August 31, 2013, while staff numbers increased to 27 from 23.
The firm said an increasing share of its sales and rentals had come from abroad, with business approaching a 50:50 split between UK and overseas work. Its key markets are Norway, Egypt, Brazil and the Middle East.
