Engineers are on site at the affected area, between Hushinish and Bunavoneader. However Western Isles Council says that supplies may not be restored for 48 hours. The Western Isles emergency planning group has asked the Coastguard, Hebsar and police to visit every property in the area and identify their needs. Scottish Hydro is to provide welfare units to the affected customers as soon as they can, upon arrival in the Western isles tonight.
