Motorists using the A82 Inverness to Glasgow road are being warned to expect delays next month due to a £125,000 resurfacing project in Lochaber.
The work on a 0.6-mile stretch of the carriageway at Invergloy, about six miles north of Spean Bridge, will start on Monday January 12 and is expected to take up to two weeks to complete.
It will be carried out between 7am and 7pm each day from Monday to Friday, with no works planned at weekends.
Temporary traffic lights and a 10mph convoy system will be in operation while the works are undertaken.
These will be removed outside working hours, however, a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be running on a temporary surface.
Eddie Ross, who is the operating company representative for Bear Scotland’s north west unit, said: “This investment by Transport Scotland will improve the existing road surface, ensuring a smoother drive for road users.
“Some delays are likely and we would therefore encourage motorists to plan their journey ahead, where possible.”
