The North East is set to see out 2014 in style with a packed programme of foot-stomping music and fantastic fireworks.
The biggest events take place in Stonehaven, where hundreds are set to enjoy “Open Air in the Square”, the music festival that will be headlined by 80s pop legends Human League.
X Factor contestant Emily Middlemas and singer songwriter Carrie Mac are also to perform.
Nearby, the traditional Fireball Ceremony will help crowds will see 2015 arrive in a blaze of glory.
The town will come alight as the procession weaves through the town before the fireballs are thrown into the harbour.
In Aberdeen City Centre the main event is the Hogmanay street party in Union Terrace Gardens, which will feautre musical performances and fireworks.
Aberdeen bands Flaxman, Jellyman’s Daughter and Funk Connection will perform from 9pm with fireworks released from His Majesty’s Theatre at midnight.
At Aberdeen Music Hall, a Hogmanay ceilidh will get guests in the mood for midnight with music from Whisky Kiss and the Bucksburn Mini Pipe Band. The event begins at 7.30pm.
In Longside, a walk around the village will be followed by fireworks at Davidson Park with people meeting in Main Street at 11.15pm.
This year, Gig at the Brig in Market Street, Ellon will be headlined by The Dangleberries with The Galloway Pipe Rockers to add a Scottish twist to the party with covers of crowd-pleasing favourites and their own material.
Tomorrow, the Stonehaven New Years Day Dip, which takes place in the Stonehaven Harbour at 12 noon, will help blow the cobwebs away. Registration will open at 10.30 am.
People will brave the cold of the North Sea to raise money CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading child cancer charity.
This year Hannah Waugh, named Miss Dundee Galaxy earlier this year, will be taking part to raise money.
