As a property writer, I come across a whole host of different kinds of homes.
From new buildings to period properties, the array of styles is pretty impressive.
But one of my favourite ones to see are those older properties that have been given a second life.
That’s one of the reasons why Keith Lodge in Stonehaven caught my eye.
It is an exciting development of luxury two and three-bedroom homes located within the grounds of a historic Victorian villa.
The existing villa has been sympathetically converted and extended to provide nine new homes. Three terraced houses have also been added.
The interior of these grand properties is equally impressive. Attention to detail is evident from the moment you enter. Lovely features include oak doors with brushed chrome handles, downlighters and energy efficient double-glazed sash and case windows.
One room sure to impress is the bathroom, with its stylish suite, co-ordinating tiling and most importantly, underfloor heating.
Keith Lodge is set within beautifully landscaped grounds where you will also find a contemporary pool with water feature. There is also a residents’ car park within the grounds.
If you fancy visiting Keith Lodge, head along to the coastal town of Stonehaven, 15 miles south of Aberdeen.
Among its highlights is its picturesque harbour, a score of hotels and restaurants as well as a beach, shops and post office.
Stonehaven has excellent primary and secondary schools, a leisure centre with gymnasium and swimming pool as well as an open-air swimming pool. There is also an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts and open public parks.
