Caley Jags manager John Hughes believes the Highlanders can promote from within as the search to replace Torbjorn Agdestein continues.
The Norwegian attacker departed Inverness last month, leaving leading scorer Billy McKay as the only senior forward.
Hughes is still looking to the free agent market to strengthen but believes there is enough versatility in his player pool to cope with a hectic league and cup schedule in the next two months.
He said: “If we could get someone in to get some competition for places it is something we would look at. We have not had anyone in on trial but the wheels are in motion.
“We are looking at players up front but we always knew Richie Foran could go back into his old position. He did it in the second half at Stranraer to great effect. We can shuffle the pack a little bit.
“All the way back to before the League Cup semi-final we picked the starting line up and played another team against them. Nick Ross was causing all kinds of problems playing in a different position.
“We asked Marley Watkins to play centre forward in training as well and he was outstanding.
“There are players we can shift about but as long as we keep everyone injury and suspension free we have good numbers. We should have enough to get through games.”
The Caley Jags manager added: “It is at the end of this month when we know where we are at.
“I am grateful and thankful we are still riding high in the league and we still have something to play for and we are in the cup competitions.
“We will find out on Saturday against Hearts how hard it is to keep our focus on the league.”
New contract offers are on the table for midfielders Ross Draper and James Vincent and Hughes hopes the pair agree to commit to the Highland club.
He said: “Talks are in progress and it will probably be next week when we are hoping to give people news.
“Draper and Vincent are two players we want to keep at the club. I am optimistic we can get something done. When players do well you want to reward it.
“As a coach and manager you have to recognise the good things at your club and those two players certainly come into that category.”
Central defender Gary Warren had stitches in a head wound sustained at Stranraer but will be fit to face Hearts at home tomorrow.
Teenage defender Matthew Cooper, 19, is also back in training as he recovers from an ankle injury.
