Should Aberdeen pull off an incredible title triumph this season perhaps the Dons should be thanking Marty McFly for lending a hand.
The character from the time travel trilogy Back to the Future, played by Michael J. Fox, has become an internet star all over again following the discovery that his time travelling feats coincided with league championship wins for the Dons.
McFly travelled back from 1985, when the Dons last won the league, to 1955, when Aberdeen won the championship for the first time, before heading off to the future of 2015 in the sequel.
With the Dons going top of the table on New Year’s Day, could Marty’s time travelling exploits be a coincidence or a timely prediction of a glorious day to come in May?
You have to wonder what Aberdeen supporters would give for a quick spin in Doc Brown’s DeLorean time machine to find out what is going to happen.
Forget Back to the Future, Dons fans are dreaming of a the title coming Back to the Teuchter. After all, 2015 is the Chinese year of the Sheep too.
Coincidence? We think not.
