Ambulance needed assistance transferring the patient to hospital
Two people were taken to hospital in Shetland today after the car they were in collided with a single decker bus.
The accident happened on the A970 Skelladale road outside the Brae Hotel at about 11.45am this morning.
A fire crew from Brae and another from Lerwick went to the scene and used cutting equipment to release a man and a woman from their car.
They were taken by road ambulance to the Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick.
An ambulance service spokesman said: “We took two people with minor injuries to hospital. The man has possible spinal injuries and the woman has an arm injury.”
