Seeing exotic and interesting cars parked around the Fennel Restaurant in Inverurie has definitely become a familiar sight over the past three or four years.
As a fan and owner of classic cars, William Bird decided to hold weekly gatherings for like-minded people. Known now as the V8 breakfast, it has become a popular event for petrolheads and families alike.
This Sunday’s breakfast had a special twist. It was a joint collaboration between William and Scottish Supercars, who organise events across the country at different locations.
William said: “Even though it is called the V8 breakfast, it isn’t just V8s that are invited; everyone is welcome.
“We even had people who don’t own anything coming down with their kids and they contacted us afterwards to say thanks because they wouldn’t normally have a chance to see half this stuff and here it was parked on the High Street.
“It was a great day. We had 50-plus interesting and exotic cars and we had done over more than 100 breakfasts by 11am and we normally do 100 meals over the whole day, so it was fantastic.”
