Forres Mechanics midfielder Kyle Scott hopes to make it a double celebration today when Inverurie Locos visit Mosset Park.
The 30-year-old PE teacher has been promoted to the post of deputy head teacher at Elgin Academy and he wants to cap a memorable week by adding to his seven goals for the Can-Cans this season.
Scott, who scored 10 for the club last season and 15 in the previous campaign, said: “I started my new job and it’s strange as there is no teaching at all in this new role. I had been doing it on an acting basis for the last 10 months but it was only confirmed permanently a week ago.
“Locos are a good side and they seem to be getting better and better as the season goes on. We haven’t played them at all this term.
“They have a lot of new faces and they have become a very difficult team to beat but in the seven years I’ve been at Forres we’ve always had quite a good record against Inverurie.
“We have had a good couple of wins in the last couple of weeks and recently we’ve also beaten Cove Rangers and come from 2-0 down to draw against Wick.
“We’re starting to turn the corner now that we are getting players back.”
Locos co-manager Scott Buchan knows his men will have to be at their best to take the points.
He said: “Forres are a good team and definitely better than their midtable position would suggest.
“They’ve won both of their last two games 6-0. That’s good going and shows that they are in form.
“It will be a very difficult game but, to be fair to our guys, they have been very consistent and we will definitely be going there looking to come away with all three points.”
