Bad weather is starting take its toll in the Western Isles, with waves overtopping some causeways.
And the windy weather warnings for the north have been upgraded to a more severe forecast by the Met Office.
The Braighe in Stornoway was shut earlier this morning because of the amount of water and debris being washed onto the route.
However police say it has now reopened under convoy system, although there is still some overtopping.
Stornoway Coastguard has been checking other routes.
They took a picture of the Goat Island Causeway outside their own station, showing waves crashing into the landbridge.
Elsewhere the high winds and swell have caused disruption to CalMac Ferries.
Most services have been postponed and passengers are advised to check with the company before travelling.
The Met Office has also issued an amber weather “be prepared” warning for wind tomorrow and Friday, predicting that gusts of 100mph could sweep the Highlands and islands.
The bad weather will continue into Saturday, when there is a yellow “be aware” warning in place.
