Police name Shetland crash victim

The 77-year-old woman who died after the car she was a passenger in was in a collision with a bus in Sheltand, was Patricia Wells.

The pensioner died in hospital after being cut free from the vehicle along with the driver, following the collision outside the Brae Hotel on Monday.

Police said that she moved to Shetland from Suffolk with her husband six months ago to be closer to the rest of her family.

Acting chief inspector Lindsay Tulloch said specialist road traffic police have been carrying out an investigation over the past few days.

Once those inquiries have been completed a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
