Emergency services were called to a medical emergency in Shetland at the weekend. Shetland Coastguard and Lerwick lifeboat assisted the ambulance service in transporting a patient from Bressay to Gilbert Bain hospital on Lerwick. Due to the severe weather conditions, the patient could not be transferred by helicopter.
