Youngsters attending the Cullen Play Centre are in safe hands according to an Education Scotland report released this week, which has lavished praise on the care it provides.
Officials from the Care Inspectorate recently visited the pre-school, based at Cullen Community Centre, to evaluate its staff and children.
The report stated: “Children are treated fairly and with respect by staff, who are kind and caring in their interactions with them.”
The centre’s “effective use” of its outdoor play area was also applauded in the report.
It said: “Children are extremely motivated about outdoor learning activities which provide a variety of very positive experiences on a daily basis.
“Children explore activities confidently, are inquisitive about creepy crawlies, ask questions and play imaginatively making up their own contexts.
“They are also developing skills in gardening and citizenship and becoming aware of the need to keep safe outdoors.”
Inspectors also detailed how staff at the centre nourished children’s interests.
Capitalising on the group’s fondness for busses they organised a coach trip to Baxters Food Factory in Fochabers.
The report added: “Staff have been pro-active in making very strong links with Cullen Nursery and school, supporting children very well for their move to the nursery class.”
