The Duthie Park Winter Gardens in Aberdeen burst into bloom with a blaze of spring colour at the weekend as gardeners from across the north-east displayed their handiwork.
Daffodils, hyacinths and crocuses were on show at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) of Aberdeen’s annual spring show, along with displays of more unusual bulbs, cut flowers and alpine plants.
Visitors also took in floral art exhibits, photography and creations from young green-fingered enthusiasts.
Dr Jane Bingham, head gardener at the Beechgrove Garden, presented the awards yesterday afternoon.
Hazel Main, chairwoman of RHS Aberdeen, said: “It was a very successful weekend, and well attended, despite the parade in the city centre.
“The weather was kind as well, which meant more people came along, including our special guest, Deputy Provost John Reynolds
“Dr Bingham was generous in her praise of the exhibits and the event itself.”
