Inverness discus specialist Kirsty Law can look forward to representing Scotland at Hampden Park in this summer’s Commonwealth Games after throwing a qualifying standard of 55.25 metres at the Midland Counties open meeting in Birmingham.
The Scotland team will not be finalised until early June, but 27-year-old Law has now fulfilled the selection criteria by twice breaking the 55m barrier during the qualification period which began last summer.
She first hit the target when throwing 55.66m at the Inverness open meeting last September and now she has produced the vital second qualifying performance required by selectors.
