The collision between a car and a van happened at around 3.50pm near Sound Brae. The man was cut from his vehicle by firefighters and taken to the Gilbert Bain Hospital by road ambulance. A woman was also taken to the same hospital. A spokesman for the ambulance service said that one casualty suffered a back injury while the second had chest injuries. However neither is thought to be in a serious condition.
