Fifty-four Scottish records, 22 men’s and 32 women’s, were broken over the two days of the Scottish Gas national masters short course championships at the Aberdeen Sports Village Aquatics Centre.
Four British, two Irish and two Russian records also went and meet director Liz Stewart said: “This is the first swimming competition we have had at the Aberdeen Sports Village and it went really well.
“There is a great atmosphere here. It is very friendly, fun and full of life. This is a fast pool and, as far as I can hear from talking to swimmers on poolside, everyone was enjoying it.”
Coming next to the Aberdeen Aquatics Centre is the North District Grand Prix – from May 30 to June 2.
The Aberdeen Sports Village venue will also host the Scottish Gas national age group championships – from June 25 to 29.
This event will see 900 competitors, aged between 12 and 18, taking part.
