Scotland international Ruaridh Jackson is looking forward to a new chapter in his rugby career at London Wasps.
The 26-year-old Aberdonian has fallen out of favour at Glasgow this season with Finn Russell and Duncan Weir both ahead of 23-times capped fly-half in the Scotstoun club’s pecking order.
Jackson, who has scored 443 points for Warriors, made his 100th appearance for the Glasgow side against Toulon in the Heineken Cup in January.
The former Robert Gordon’s College pupil said he is enthusiastic about a fresh challenge and said: “I have been at Glasgow a long time now but I am now relishing the move.
“After meeting with London Wasps director of rugby Dai Young, I was very impressed with what the club has to offer and it is easy to see it is going in the right direction.
“I can’t wait to start the next stage of my rugby career.”
Despite the disappointment of his release, Jackson claimed he would look back on his time with Glasgow fondly.
He said: “I’ve enjoyed my six years at the club and I’ll take a lot of good memories with me.
“I’d like to thank everyone at the Warriors for supporting me during my time in Glasgow, this club will always mean a lot to me.
“I’ve had the opportunity to play in some massive games and I’ve played with so many quality players.
“There is still a lot of rugby to be played this season and I’m looking forward to some big games ahead.”
Glasgow Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend added: “Ruaridh has been a fantastic ambassador for the club during his six years in Glasgow.
“He became a centurion earlier this season, which shows how big a role he’s played.
“We wish him all the best when he moves on at the end of the season.”
London Wasps director of rugby Young is happy with his club’s new signing and said: “I have been very impressed with what I have seen of Ruaridh.
“He will add to the quality pool of 10s we already have.”
