A Moray animal lover has enlisted the help of her favourite football club as part of her fundraising effort for a dog rehoming charity.
Meg Grant, 51, is staging a dance in Elgin next month. Top raffle prize is a football signed by the entire Celtic FC squad.
The signed ball came after the death of an old school friend. Ms Grant, who works in the Cadora chip shop in Elgin, said: “My friend Ricker McIntosh passed away on Christmas Eve, he was only 51, and a total Celtic fanatic. He went to nearly every game with his mate ‘Big’ John Robertson, and when I attended his funeral a few weeks ago, I met the groundsman from the club.
“We got talking and he said he would love to help us raise some money.”
Soon, Ms Grant had arranged for the signed ball to be donated for the raffle. The dance in New Elgin Hall is in aid of Boxer Welfare Scotland. Ms Grant can be reached on 01343 548143 for tickets.
