With Culter crowned PMAC Group Superleague champions on Tuesday night the focus tomorrow shifts to the McBookie.com McLeman Cup semi-final at Glenury Park between Stonehaven and Maud.
Maud manager Allan Hale believes the tie could go all the way to extra time and possibly penalties as the sides are so evenly matched.
Hale said: “We lost the North Regional final to Stonehaven last season so this is a great opportunity to end the season on a high by getting to a cup final, so it will be a big day for sure.
“Games between Stonehaven and ourselves have always been pretty close. There is usually little to choose between the sides and the league table reflects that. We are pretty much like for like in terms of points.
“We played Stonehaven a couple of weeks ago and we drew 1-1. It was quite an open game and both sides had chances to win.”
Hale confirmed that his players have not had time to prepare for penalties.
He added: “We’ve been playing midweek games the last few weeks, however, we have been in penalty shootouts in past cup competitions and we have come out on top, although I don’t want to tempt fate on that score.
“We are at full strength apart from defender Fraser Hall and myself, we are both out of action long term.”
With the title already in the bag there should a carnival atmosphere at Crombie Park when Culter welcome Deveronside while Dyce can confirm runners-up spot if they can defeat Hermes at Ian Mair Park.
In the First Division (East), Fraserburgh United host Parkvale while Burghead Thistle travel to Dufftown in the First Division (West).
