Attacker Jordan Slew believes he will return to Blackburn Rovers a better player following his six-month spell with Ross County.
The 21-year-old scored his first goal for County in his farewell appearance on Saturday as the Staggies beat Partick Thistle 3-2 at Firhill to finish seventh in the Premiership.
He said: “I was injured for a long time when I was at Blackburn and the chance to come here and get some games has worked out great for me.
“I feel like a better player and a better person for my time with Ross County and the physical style of Scottish football has been a great learning curve for me.”
Slew was delighted to break his duck in his last game for the club and would welcome a return to Dingwall should he fail to break into the first team at Ewood Park next season.
He said: “It is a demanding league physically and mentally but I’ve enjoyed it and I would happily play in this league again.
“Everyone at the club made me feel really welcome and I’ve had a great time here. I’m sad to go in a way, but I have nothing but good memories of being here.
“I’m disappointed the goal didn’t come earlier, but I was very happy to get on the scoresheet at last and help the club finish seventh.
“I’ve been a bit low on confidence due to not scoring but I have faith in my ability and I knew the goal would come eventually.
“It’s a great way to end the season for me and the fact we won the game and sent our supporters home happy makes it worthwhile.”
County manager Derek Adams was pleased Slew broke his duck before he returned to Rovers.
Adams said: “I’m delighted for him because he has been great for us and I always thought he would score for us before the end of the season.
“He has worked hard but it just didn’t come off for him but he will go back to Blackburn and I’m delighted with his progress.”
