A decision over whether to close a road near Loch Ness during the tourist season has been postponed for further discussions.
Highland Council is still trying to find a compromise over its plan to shut the B862 at Loch Tarff and north of Whitebridge.
The council wants to widen the road to double track the section as part of improvements to access for the Corriegarth windfarm site.
But some residents in the Foyers area fear detours would mean visitors bypassing the area, hitting local traders.
The original plan was for the road to be closed between 7am and 7pm for six weeks, starting last month.
That was postponed because of the outcry.
A public meeting was held on April 30 and the council has now confirmed that the work is still under review.
A spokeswoman said: “The council is continuing to work on design solutions for the 300m (328yards) section of the road at Loch Tarff where significant cutting into the embankment is required.
“No works will start on that section until a further public meeting has been held.”
She added that a date for the meeting would be set once the council had drawn up proposals taking account of the feedback received at the April 30 session and from the community liaison group.
Meanwhile, contractor R.J. McLeod will start work today on a separate 984-yard section beside Loch Tarff.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane, with just one daytime closure at the end of the resurfacing works.
