Well technology specialists Delphian Ballistics has appointed a full-time operations director as it prepares to take new perforation gun technology to market.
Serena Arif is a trained chemist with 15 years’ experience in the energy sector. She held a number of technical positions in the plastics and paper industries before co-founding her own technology company, PolyOil, which was sold to Norwegian firm Roxar in 2008.
Before joining Aberdeen-based Delphian, Serena was Subsea Business Director for materials and technology specialist, Aubin, and played a pivotal role in bringing new subsea products to market. At Delphian, Serena will oversee business development and work with clients on areas such as sales acquisitions and project close-out.
She said: “I am delighted to join Delphian Ballistics as the company reaches an exciting chapter in its development. It is great to be part of a team which has worked incredibly hard to prepare a unique perforation gun for the global oil and gas marketplace. Independent technical studies show how TriStim increases the flow performance by 50 per cent on wells so Delphian presents a perfect opportunity to introduce this technology to the energy sector, with further developments on the horizon.”
Stuart McLeod, managing director of the company, said: “We are thrilled to welcome an operations director of Serena’s calibre onboard the team which will aid the acceleration of our future ambitions.”
Delphian Ballistics was established to develop transformational technology for the global oil and gas industry and is dedicated to industry-changing solutions. It has current interests in the North Sea and the onshore unconventional shale gas market in the US. The company was shortlisted this year for an Offshore Achievement Award in the emerging technology category with the winners to be announced at a ceremony on March 12.
