Two men have been arrested after a blaze at a house in Orkney.
Two fire crews from Kirkwall and Stromness were called to the property in Strynde Street.
The blaze was confined to the front porch of the house and was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
Two people are understood to have been in the house at the time and had to escape from the building through a window.
Following a joint investigation by the police and fire service, two men have been arrested and are expected to appear at Kirkwall Sheriff Court today in connection with the incident.
A police spokesman said that a report had been sent to the procurator fiscal.
