Tens of hopefuls flocked to Aberdeen’s Union Square shopping centre today to prove they had the X-Factor.
More than 50 would-be popstars hoped to wow the judges with renditions of songs by Ed Sheeran and Paloma Faith among many others in the special ‘audition pod’ set up in the centre.
Else Nelson, 17, made the journey up from Montrose to audition.
She had unsuccessfully auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent three times previously but was hopeful that she would qualify this time.
An unexpected arrival was guitar teacher Leighann Esslemont, 39, who had been on her way to a lesson before spotting that auditions were on.
In a spur-of-the-moment move she chose to sing Duffy’s Mercy.
The popular TV series, presented by pop mogul Simon Cowell, is now in its 12th series and has produced stars like Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke and Shayne Ward.
