Horse-racing, a sport associated with the rich aristocracy, but today marked the annual event where all airs and graces are thrown out of the window.

Ladies Day at Aintree – a day of fun, flamboyant outfits and, er, drinking.

And this year was no different, although race organisers had promised to ban unflattering photographs of racegoers.
