Be it a small and intimate gathering, or a lavish affair with lots of family and friends, Glen Tanar Estate in the heart of Royal Deeside provides the perfect setting for wedding dreams to come true.

And couples about to tie the knot could find out if the destination could be the start of their own happily ever after at Glen Tanar’s wedding exhibition on Sunday, May 17.

With its own private chapel in which to exchange marriage vows, and a grand ballroom where newlyweds and their guests can dance the night away, Glen Tanar, near Aboyne, has hosted many magnificent and memorable weddings over the years.

The stunning Victorian ballroom, which was originally the music room of Glen Tanar House, will be the centrepiece to the exhibition. Dozens of exhibitors, including caterers, florists, cake designers, photographers, musicians, jewellers and bridal-wear outfitters, along with providers who specialise in transport, fireworks, marquee hire and accommodation, will be attending.

Jane Lees, event manager at Glen Tanar Ballroom, says that many couples have attended previous exhibitions and have found their match in more ways than one.

Jane added: “Our wedding exhibitions are always very popular. While many couples primarily come to see the venue, it also gives them the opportunity to meet our local suppliers, all under one roof.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors and introducing them to the stunning surroundings of Glen Tanar, which has provided a magical backdrop to so many weddings over the years.”

Visitors to the exhibition will also be able to see a newly created space – The Coats Room – which is available for smaller and more intimate weddings and pre-wedding dinners.

There will also be an opportunity for guests to enjoy a show-round of one of the estate’s charming holiday cottages, which are available for hire by the wedding party and guests. Drinks and nibbles from recommended caterers will also be available throughout the wedding exhibition, which is open from 11am-4pm. Entry is free.

Situated close to Aboyne and less than an hour’s drive from Aberdeen, Glen Tanar Estate is a popular wedding venue. The Ballroom at Glen Tanar is a magnificent and elegant venue with more than 600 stag antlers adorning a high vaulted ceiling, an exquisite grand piano, large open fire and an original oak floor. The ballroom can seat up to 170, making it ideal for a variety of functions, while the Coats Room can cater up to 20 guests for a meal.
