Volunteers are being sought to help continue the success of one of Moray’s most popular summer attractions.
The Piping at Forres bagpipe spectacular will take place on Saturday, June 27, at the town’s Grant Park.
And with over 100 pipe bands from all over Europe are due to take part and thousands expected to attend, organisers Forres Events Ltd are asking locals to help ensure the bash runs smoothly.
There will be a public meeting at the Tolbooth courtroom in Forres on Wednesday at 7pm, where people can sign up to lend a hand at the European Pipe Band Championship event.
Chairman of Forres Events Ltd, Ian Widdowson, said: “In the two years it has been running, Piping At Forres has become a great success with audiences of around 18,000 and it brings in around £1million to the area each summer.
“We could not achieve this success without the help and support of our small army of volunteers from Forres and the surrounding area.”
The event’s volunteer coordinator Sandra MacIver added: “We hope the people of Forres will be willing to help us make the 2015 event a success.
“It can be hugely rewarding to be part of such a team.
“The success of Piping at Forres depends largely on the hard work of people from the area helping set up Grant Park, doing tasks on the day and tidying up after the event.”
Organisers have stressed that there will be volunteer tasks to suit all abilities – including collecting litter, selling tickets and programmes and moving lightweight crowd barriers.
