Crews leave scene of Stornoway house fire

Fire crews have now left a house in Stornoway, which was the scene of an earlier fire.

A woman had to be taken to hospital after she was injured in the blaze, on Springfield Road, which broke out at around 9.50am.

Three fire appliances, from Stornoway and Shawbost, with 17 firefighers were called to the scene.

A woman was subsequently taken by ambulance to Western Isles Hospital.

The full extent of her injuries are not known at this stage.
