Fire crews tackle “well developed” blaze in Aberdeen

A blaze has broken out at a former garden centre in west Aberdeen.

Fire teams were alerted to the blaze, reported at the Somebody Cares Trust base, in the grounds of the former Dobbies Garden Centre in the Hazlehead area of the city at 7.45pm.

It is believed the blaze started in derelict cottages in the area but the extent of the damage to the cottages or Somebody Cares is not clear at this stage.

Three appliances have been sent out to the fire, which eye witnesses say is “well developed and has spread over a large area”.
