Picture by Karen Burgoyne Fire crews have confirmed that a blaze that ripped through the Broadford Works site in Aberdeen this evening has been contained. Over 40 firefighters rushed to the fire and have now brought the blaze under control. Crews remain on the scene as they continue hosing down the area in order to completely extinguish the blaze. Picture by reader Rebecca Anderson In recent years there have been numerous fires at the premises, which is the largest collection of at-risk A-listed buildings in Scotland. In November, four teenagers were charged after video footage emerged online of them appearing to enter the site to start a fire inside. Permission was granted earlier this year for the site to be converted into more than 500 homes. More to follow.
